AFAF will announce plans for the charity’s 19th Annual Salute to our Troops and Golf Classic being held April 9-10, 2024, at Toscana Country Club, Indian Wells, CA.

The Righteous Brothers WOW the crowd at AFAF's Salute to Our Troops & Golf Classic
AFAF’s 17th Annual Salute to our Troops & Golf Classic had record attendance and at the end of the evening record funds had been raised to benefit military families.
The April 4 event began with a gourmet dinner followed by a patriotic program and concert by the Righteous Brothers and their 11-piece orchestra performing their award-winning hit songs.
Following up on the excitement of AFAF’s Salute to our Troops, the charity’s Golf Classic on April 5 included a return performance by Dan Boever, America’s most well-known, golf trick shot artist.
Thirty Marines joined the fun with each golf foursome being joined by a Marine for breakfast on the range, lunch on the go and golf on Toscana Country Club’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Couse.
The day was a wrap with a wine and cheese reception, awarding of team and individual prizes and the building of new friendships.
Lorrie Morgan Stars in AFAF Salute to Our Troops & Golf Classic
Lorrie Morgan, one of the most eloquently emotive country vocalists of modern times, performed a string of top ten hits to an audience of fans and admirers at AFAF’s 17th Annual Salute to our Troops. Winding up the concert with her all-time top hit ‘Something in Red’, Morgan received a standing ovation for her lustrous performance with cheers for just one more song.
The charity’s annual event raised more than $400,000 for the benefit of military families, a record amount for AFAF.
Gatlin Brothers Star in AFAF Salute to Our Troops & Golf Classic
AFAF’s 15th Annual 2021 Salute to our troops raised more than $350,000 for the benefit of military families. The evening at Toscana Country Club was filled with laughter and good will for America’s troops.
The 250 plus in attendance arrived to a gourmet dinner with blue skies and light winds for the perfect start to an unforgettable evening. As the evening moved along the crowd was treated to a patriotic opening program whick included a presentation of the colors and enthusiastic singing of the National Anthem.
As time neared for The Gatlin Brothers Private Concert, a record setting Paddle Raise and Live Auction were held. The evening started with a bang as AFAF co-founder Walt VanBenthuysen announced a matching grant for the first $100,000 raised during the evening. The total amount donated for the evening was over $350,000.
Not to be outdone, The Gatlin Brothers sang a medley of hits from the past and patriotic favorites that were warmly received by the audience. By the end of the concert the audience would have eagerly joined The Gatlin Brothers fan club.
The next day attendees participating in AFAF’s golf classic were treated to laughter and an amazing demonstration by Dan Boever, America’s leading trick shot artist. Each of the golfing groups were joined by a Marine for a fun filled day on the golf course.
All in all, every part of the two day event made for a wonderful tribute to our military families.
