Military Appreciation Golf Tournament - 2025

AFAF

AFAF’s 17th Annual Military Appreciation Golf Tournament Returns to The World famous Classic Club in Palm Desert, CA. Monday, December 1, 2025.

A Special Day of Camaraderie

American Friends of our Armed Forces proudly hosts its 17th Annual Military Appreciation Golf Tournament to honor approximately 75 active-duty Marines and other service members from Twentynine Palms, Camp Pendleton, and Miramar—representing the more than 60,000 brave military men and women stationed across Southern California.

This special event brings together active-duty military, veterans, and civilian golfers to show appreciation for those who serve to protect our freedoms. All registered golfers receive breakfast, greens and cart fees, practice range balls, 18-hole tournament play on a championship course, bottled water, a post-tournament lunch, and commemorative participation gifts. Awards are presented for top teams, and prizes are given for special contests, including an opportunity to win a $10,000 Hole-in-One Prize!

Hosted through the generosity of Classic Club’s charitable golf program, this annual tournament strengthens the bond between our community and those who serve. With your support, we can continue to make this experience meaningful for all who attend.

Marines Join Veterans and Civilians for a Special Day

American Friends of Our Armed Forces (AFAF) hosted its 16th Annual Military Appreciation Golf Tournament on December 2, 2024, at the renowned Classic Club in Palm Desert. The signature event honored approximately 75 active-duty Marines and other military personnel from Twentynine Palms, Camp Pendleton, and Miramar. The day was filled with camaraderie and gratitude for the more than 60,000 Marines and Sailors stationed in Southern California.

After the 18-hole tournament play, connections with active-duty military, veterans, and grateful civilians continued during a buffet luncheon where trophies were presented to the top teams and prizes were awarded for “closest to the pin” contests. All golfers received special participation gifts to commemorate the occasion.

Big Thanks!!

The annual tournament was presented in collaboration with the Classic Club’s charitable golf program and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, whose generous support sponsored the luncheon.

The tournament was directed by Don Hawley with support from the all-volunteer AFAF Board of Directors. As with all AFAF events, proceeds help provide financial, emotional, and social assistance to America’s military men and women and their families.
